Jay Sean credited his healthy eating obsession with helping him cope with his heavy schedule.
Jay said: "There are days when you are so tired. Every day is so busy, it's hard to even find time to get a hair cut.
"I've got a history of being overweight and don't want to get like that again.
"I work out six times a week - if I don't I get so cranky. I want to be an old fit man - I don't want to be a hunchback in bad condition."
He added: "My diet drives everyone mad. It's very weird and specific. I don't even think about eating bread.
"I hardly drink and don't have any sugar. I can't even eat fruit and keep fat to a minimum.
"I have close to 250-300 grams of protein a day - I just have to get it in. I have to have protein every one-and-a-half or two hours, something like those little chicken bites or beef jerky.
"When I perform, my manager knows I'm a nightmare. My rider is a deli plate of meats - pure meat, slices of turkey or whatever.
"I have my porridge in the morning, that's the only main carbs I have, that's it. It keeps me going, it keeps me lean and happy.
"I have worked so hard to stay in shape, I need to keep that way."
